FEEDBACK

Feedback is a very important aspect of trading on eBay. Consistent positive feedback lets buyers know that you manage transactions well and that you care about your reputation.

Feedback Updates: Detailed Seller Ratings and Item Details eBay is introducing new changes to the Feedback system.

Detailed Seller Ratings
In addition to leaving an overall positive, neutral, or negative Feedback, buyers will now be able to leave Detailed Seller Ratings on four aspects of a transaction: accuracy of item description, communication, shipping time, and shipping and handling charges. The rating system is based on a one- to five-star scale, with one star being the lowest rating and five stars being the highest.

The average of each of the Detailed Seller Ratings will be displayed on the seller's Feedback Profile page. Detailed Seller Ratings do not impact the overall Feedback Score, but provide a more complete picture of the member's performance as a seller.

Item Details
The item title and price will now be visible on the Feedback Profile page for 90 days, so buyers can more easily determine the item price and type of item associated with that particular Feedback.

Feedback Tips Build and maintain a high positive feedback rating with these simple tips:
  • Always represent your item accurately and honestly.
  • Make your terms of sale easy to find and easy to understand-especially concerning payment terms, shipping, and returns.
  • Be available to answer questions before and after the listing closes.
  • Be patient and courteous with your buyers. Give them the benefit of the doubt until it is obvious that they are not responding or cooperating.
  • Make every possible effort to bring the transaction to a satisfying close. Negative feedback should only be left as a last resort. It's not unusual for a sale to be cancelled and still be resolved to the satisfaction of both seller and buyer.
Finally, when it is merited, don't forget to leave positive feedback for others. Doing so helps promote safe trading on eBay and, more often than not, encourages your trading partner to do the same for you!
